Membership Agreement

You are taking a bold, powerful step forward - you are entering a professional organization. 

Your American Association of Event Professionals Membership will be publicly visible and searchable.You'll be able to add the AAEP Member badge to your resume, CV, social media accounts and website. You'll have access to training, networking, professional development and other advantages. 

Above all else, you should know that your membership in the AAEP says that you’re a professional, you conduct yourself as a professional, and you're an industry leader.

By joining, you're agreeing to the AAEP Standards of Conduct: 

AAEP Members will: 

  • Membership in the AAEP says that you are a professional and that you agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct:

    • NEVER no-call / no-show an event that you have been booked to work
    • Dependably communicate as early as possible, generally 48 hours or more in advance, for events that you have committed to work if your availability changes
    • Always arrive at events clean and sober and remain clean and sober throughout the event
    • Arrive at events in event-appropriate clothing, clean, showered, fresh, shaved or with a well-maintained beard, overall well groomed
    • Never commit an act of sexual, race, religious or gender harassment
    • Never speak disparagingly of the brands that you are contracted to represent 
    • Be a positive, upbeat, hardworking, helpful, professional person 
    • Contribute constructively to the team dynamic 
    • Follow the instructions laid out by the account and field management to the best of your ability 
    • Not disparage, insult or slander another team member on an event or promotion
    • Conduct yourself in a way that leads to the best possible outcomes for the brands and companies that you’ve been contracted to represent, in line with the intentions of the agency, brand, or company you’re serving
    • Conduct yourself professionally in any and all dispute resolution, bringing concerns or issues to the individual or organization with whom you have the issue, in an effort to resolve the issue, and not in a public forum that will not lead to a resolution of the issue.
    • Review and understand training material prior to arriving at the event or promotion
    • Understand responsibilities and expectations prior to arriving at the event or promotion

A Member’s name and membership status will be publicly visible and searchable on the Site. Status can include Member in Good Standing, Membership Revoked and the date of Revocation, or Membership Terminated and the date of Termination.

MEMBER WAIVES AND HOLD HARMLESS AAEP AND ITS DIRECTORS, AFFILIATES, LICENSEES AND SERVICE PROVIDERS FROM ANY CLAIMS RESULTING FROM ANY ACTION TAKEN BY ANY OF THE FOREGOING PARTIES DURING OR AS A RESULT OF ITS INVESTIGATIONS AND FROM ANY ACTIONS TAKEN AS A CONSEQUENCE OF INVESTIGATIONS BY ANY SUCH PARTIES OR LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES.
